Nobody glances twice when they make their way down a winding flight of stairs to a place that has --
-- honest-to-God electric light.
The generator's running noisily in a corner, and the room is full of people, but surprisingly little security for somewhere running electricity. It's underground, and wasn't even visible from the street; maybe that explains it.
Of more interest is the bain-marie full of pies, chips and scallops. Nothing fresh, of course, but it's hot.
