Dinah Lance just drives her bike right up to the secret entrance to her lover's secret cave and heads atraight in. If he's not there, he will be soon.

She didn't expect to find a small boy tied up in a chair.

Soon the Black Canary is leaning on a computer console, looking at him with some interest.

And not unexpected either.

After nearly a minute of silent interest, Dinah turns away just long enough to find one of Bruce's spare batarangs in the spare batarang drawer. She's never going to be a bat, but she can still throw sharp things with some accuracy.

The 'rang passes behind his head, and his gag falls to his lap.

"OK, I'll bite. Why are you down here?"

"I dunno. All I did was jack some tyres." His sullenness only increases with freedom of speech. "Why're you, lady?"

"You're probably too young for the answer to that," Dinah muses. She's back to leaning on the console, not looking towards the stairs or to Alfred, with one fishnetted leg bent at the knee as she rests the boot on the table leg.

"Tyre-jacking isn't usually an incarceration offense. Unless..."

Wait.

"Whose tyres were you jacking?"
